Description

One of many test shots I did in the backyard with my new camera.

I happened upon this bumblebee on a coneflower and I had to take a picture of it. Thankfully it turned out good because it decided to fly off right afterwards.

Only touch up I did was do a slight blur in the background to make the flower and the bee stand out a little more and tried softening up the edges of the bee just a little----my camera took such a crisp shot that bee almost looked like it was cut and pasted into the original photo.

Out of the three, this picture immediately cause my eye because of the bright colors. (yes I'm like them insects) I think blurring the background to give focus to the flower was a good choice. I know cameras could do this kind of thing if you adjust certain... lenses? I'm not a photographer, but my dad is so I know a few things here and there xD Anyway, the image would've turned out better if the focus was achieved that way. In this picture a see a slight halo around the bee and the flower where you blurred things that makes the outline less sharp. This affects things when you look though the hole in the petal on the right... the colors tell that something's off, tells that this was editted. The stem also stands out a bit too much. And I think the focus on this picture is shifted to the orange portion of the flower instead of the bee. That part looks sharper. If it was focused on the bee, we should be able to see some detail on its wings. But then you had to catch this quick so that's understandable <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/r/r…" width="15" height="15" alt="=p" title="=p (Razz)"/>

Hope this helps!
